Ninth grade Studio Art students at Paul J. Gelinas Junior High School created these mixed media cubist inspired drawings. Students first made fractured contour drawings from life. Next, students learned to shade the basic forms (sphere, cone, and the cylinder) using both graphite and charcoal pencils. Finally, students shaded their final drawings using either graphite pencil, charcoal pencil, watercolour and collage. Have to say I love each of them (click through for more).
Pablo Picasso - Still Life on a Table (1947) I find all of the abstract work that Picasso has done very intriguing. Firstly, you notice the colours and how far fetched the colours are from real life. Then the shapes are all distorted and not what you expect them to be, so that the viewer has to really immerse themselves in the painting to figure out what the painter has done.
