Arnos Vale Cemetary. Bristol, England Established in 1837 as a garden cemetary it ran out of room for new graves and with no source of income fell into disrepair in the 20th century. Many once beautiful monuments crumbled and they lay neglected till locals were able to secure funds for restoration. Much of the older part of the cemetary still awaits restoration lending it a gothic air.

Caterina Campodonico, The most stunningly realistic funerary sculpture in this exhibit depicts Caterina Campodonico, who has rested in a Genoa cemetery since 1881. Sculptor Lorenzo Orengo presents her as a stout woman proudly holding two ring-shaped loaves of bread, as well as a string of hazlenuts deliberately resembling a rosary.
