British Railways Standard class 7P 4-6-2 70020 "Mercury" at Euston having arrived with an express from the north - 10/03/1964. The Crewe built (1951) Pacific was new to Old Oak Common before moving to Cardiff Canton in 1956. It was transferred to the LMR in 1961. It was a Willesden (1A) locomotive at the time of this picture, but was withdrawn from Carlisle Kingmoor in January 1967.
