Just some of the amazing olive trees we saw on our trip to a nursery in Valencia last week. The hardest choice is knowing which ones to bring in! Please let us know if you would like one, they haven't been exported to the UK yet so you would be the first person to have one! They are hardy down to -15.
Coming to the nursery next year is Acanthus mollis commonly known as bear's breeches. This fast growing perennial has long oval dark green leaves and in summer produces many spikes of funnel-shaped mauve and white flowers.
Coming to the nursery next year is Prunus cerasifera 'Nigra'. Known as the black cherry plum, this medium sized deciduous tree has deep purple foliage turning red and orange in autumn. In spring it produces pale pink flowers which are popular with bees.
Coming next year to the nursery is Araucaria araucana more commonly known as the Monkey puzzle or Chile pine. This evergreen conifer is fully hardy and has dark green, scale-like leaves and is a popular choice for the garden due to it's unusual appearance.
Coming next year to the nursery is Liriope muscari 'Big Blue' (big blue lilyturf). This hardy perennial has interesting evergreen foliage and produces small lilac-blue flowers in Autumn followed by dark berries.
