A glulam (glued laminated timber) beam frames the ceiling over the kitchen; the ceiling is made up of a prefabricated triangular plywood module braced by plywood skin, acting as the floor for the upper storey.
I love the play of wood vs. metal in this Kitchen. It has a very industrial feel from the table, light fixtures and chairs, but adding hits of wood on the floor, cabinets, and ceiling brings warmth into the space.
