Hare's Leap, Rock Farm Slane
Turn off at the majestic Slane Bridge, & onto the dirt track that takes you up through the swaying fields of whiskey-bound barley, over dale & through valley to an undulating wild meadow. Primeval coppices of aged, wizened oak, chestnut and hawthorn form sheltered natural enclosures, & the pasture sits on a ledge of land which looks upon the turrets of the infamous castle, before it drops down to a secret bathing spot on the mighty but languid River Boyne. This is ancient land. This is Ireland.
