Prophet S.A.W. said to Ibn Abbas when he was a young boy... - observe the rights of Allah and He will protect you. - If you ask, then ask Allah, and when you seek aid, seek aid from Allah. - Know that if the entire creation were to gather together to do something to benefit you, you would never get any benefit except that which Allah had written for you. And if they were to gather to do something to harm you, you would never be harmed except that which Allah had written for you. Tirmidhi…

A person who is tested with the loss of a child should know that the Prophet S.A.W., lost all of his children during his life, except for Faatimah who died after him. From his guidance is that he, S.A.W., became sad at their passing away and shed tears, but he, S.A.W., would not say except that which pleases Allah.

Just like the Prophet of Allah, S.A.W, safeguarded the rights of the elderly, he, S.A.W , safeguarded the rights of the young as well. He, S.A.W, recognised them as being weak and vulnerable and in need of greater care. He, S.A.W, advised the young of the Muslim society, who will be tomorrow’s elderly, to honor the elders. Applying this Prophetic advice helps bridge the gap between generations and spreads an atmosphere of love and understanding between the young and the old.
