Our Department of Art and Design has a comprehensive collection of Italian items spanning the 11th-21st centuries and numbering nearly 2,750 pieces. Just over 900 of these belong to the Fashion and Textiles collection, and include lace, embroideries, leather, silks and satin. The remaining items include glass (c.700 items), ceramics (c.200 items), precious and non-precious metals, furniture, sculpture, including ivories and alabasters, jewellery and other diverse items.
