Bridget Riley, celebrates the 50 year anniversary of her first commercial show. She is most well known for her dizzying, patterned paintings that gave birth to a movement called “Op Art”. By juxtaposing different colors or black and white against one another she is able to create the illusion that her work is flickering, pulsating or moving.
TWIST, 1963. Bridget Riley (b1931) is a British artist. Around 1960 she began to develop her signature Op Art style consisting of black and white geometric patterns that explore the dynamism of sight and produce a disorienting effect on the eye.
