Chotto Matte, London W1 - taking Japanese-Peruvian fusion (or Nikkei) and cranking up the volume. On the ground floor is a huge bar seething with cocktail drinkers against a vivid manga-style mural. Go upstairs for the restaurant with a menu offering a spectrum of two cuisines, though with more Latin flavour than other Nikkei restaurants.
VOC, London N1 - this bars name is an abbreviation of the Dutch for Dutch East India Company and features historically inspired and fantastical cocktails - for example, 'served from the flask with a camomile dust and gunpowder fog'.
London´s Old Vic Tunnels Space. The Old Vic Tunnels Space was an underground arts venue and performance space beneath Waterloo train station in London. The space consisted of almost 30,000 square feet of unused railway tunnels.
MARI VANNA, London SW1 - a little corner of old Soviet Russia, beautifully presented and with good, authentic dishes. The attention to detail is incredible. Try the pelmeni (dumplings) and the honey cake.
