19th Century Sampler in the Style of Ashley Down Orphanage Bristol, worked in the familiar red threads creating detailed motifs, alphabet and numbers through the tiny stitches, worked by Jane Ann, dated 1871, using the Bristol Orphanages format for the differing fonts of the alphabet and also the motifs, including a bible, a standing cow, birds, crosses, keys, stars, fleur de lys, Greek key motif, other geometric and naturalistic designs.
