Supporting a veteran apealing against an ATOS medical decision for PIP, 2016 has seen a sharp increase in veterans needing help at apeal, this is largely due to the regional change over from DLA to PIP.
The restructure is now in it's final stages and training has started to meet our new goals. This is to ensure our services are current and can be delivered effectively in support of statutory services to deliver a fully supportive wrap around service for veterans living with mental health.
Med kit has arrived for the Veterans Response Partnership vehicle, the vehicle will be equipped with PPE for its crew, it has WIFI to allow access to the Internet for the on board computer and for WIFI calls should mobile signal be poor. CCTV monitoring both the driving and the interior of the vehicle, all conversation in the vehicle is recorded.
We don't sit in an office all day waiting for people to call or email, we are proactively reaching out to veterans, today we are meeting some homeless veterans to help support them and work with them to get them the help they need.
Well after much searching and testing of vehicles we have finally settled on a make and model suitable for our complex needs. The vehicle will need to undergo some modifications both electrical and mechanical to adapt it to fit our needs perfectly, but we are now another step closer to bringing our new service online, we best get on with the press release and arrangements for the launch day!
