The Wantage Literary Festival takes place each October. We celebrate the written, spoken and performed word. Events include author talks, poetry readings, comedy, storytelling, creative workshops and something for children. The festival is registered charity 1165315, the programme is planned and delivered by a small group of local volunteers who also organise a variety of fundraising activities throughout the year.

14th Baron Berners aka Lord Berners, passed away today, 19 April, in 1950. A talented musician, skilled artist and writer and renowned eccentric, he lived in Faringdon house. His prank of dyeing pigeons has become a local tradition of painting dummy birds.
