Remember when this is how we checked out a book from the library! We also looked up books using the card catalog and the Dewey Decimal system!

My mum gave me an empty Streets tin full of little sewing necessities when I went away to boarding school.

I'd forgotten about this glue. I always had to stick the scissors in the slit at the top of the rubber lid to break open the dried up glue.

One pound notes. I got 3 of these every birthday, except my Then I got a 20 and a 1 pound note, from my Nan xxx.

School register

School register - after it was taken someone would be assigned the very important and much coveted job of delivering it to the head's office :) yes, and I had one for my stuffed animal classroom at home!

These are now superseded by white boards and have a marker pen to write with so no heavy wood eraser blocks!

Roller blackboards and the wheeled ones, our science teacher used to put the kids who didn't behave behind it lol been there a few times myself :) not a very popular teacher i think the whole class would have been behind if he had his way hahaha

Primary School needlework. Sewing classes for girls - these pieces of material were used to teach basic and some fancy embroidery stitching. We proudly took them home and presented them to our parents and grand-parents who would display them on sideboards and dressing tables.
