"Glen Terrace in 1925 and more recently. The old photo shows how Manchester Rd formerly followed the line of the terrace, crossing the swingbridge in a straight line. Not many years later a new bridge was built to replace the swingbridge, but further to the right (so that it was outside of the dock locks), causing the familiar kink in Manchester Rd." In the Tower Bridge, in England, began to open while a double-decker bus was still on it. The number which was being driven by Albert Gunton, had to accelerate and jumped a small, three-foot gap. He was awarded for his bravery.
