Chris Lee WATERCOLOR SKETCH Gold Hill is a steep cobbled street in the town of Shaftesbury in the English county of Dorset.
The sketching and shading is messy, as if the drawing was done with urgency. This raw, jagged style creates a sense of energy and an ever-changing quality, which is lost in perfect, overly planned sketches.
I like this drawing because of its varied pastel strokes. It uses bother very thick strokes in the white face of the building and more precise strokes in on the red building.
