Robert Arthur Wilson 12 I bought this in late 2015 and I had been underbidder on the same picture 10 years earlier....I bought it for less this time than I had failed to get it for last time! This makes it seem like a poor investment, but if I wanted it then, why should I not want it now...I'm just delighted that I saved some money.
Richard Eurich 01 This is very small and was done when he was quite old. I used to have a much nicer and larger one which I bought at Sothebys in the mid 80's...It was then exhibited at the Imperial War Museum after I had sold it....I then saw it for sale at a Gallery in st James's some years later....needless to say for much more than I'd sold it for!
John Lawrence 01 I know nothing about this artist and haven't been able to find any biography for him but he can clearly paint this is dated 1945 and it is almost in the style of Nash....it occurs to me he may possibly be Canadian, American or an ANZAC and maybe he was killed in the war hence he never pursued his art.....I cannot think of any other explanation....I keep meaning to send images to the Imperial War Museum to see what they say about it.
Amanda Ralfe 01 I bought this at the 'Affordable Art Fair' in Bristol in the early 2000's and I met her there. She said it was of the Ridgeway in Oxfordshire, near where I live.....call me gullible if you like, but I could really see what she meant and could just imagine it
Clifford Hall 31 This was not actually labelled as a Clifford Hall in the auction where I bought it in 2014? (Ewebanks) but I bought other Clifford Hall lots in the same sale and I understand this picture came from the same vendor and with my little knowledge of CH's work I would say that it is almost certainly by him
