St John's Gate, Clerkenwell. Formerly the entrance to the Priory of the Knights of St John (Knights Hospitallers). It was the home of William Hogarth when a child - his father ran a coffee house in the building! It is now a museum and the HQ of St John's Ambulance organisation.

St John’s Gate, Clerkenwell. Childhood home of William Hogarth, from 1701 to 1709. His father ran Hogarth’s Coffee Shop from the gatehouse. Hogarth [1697 - 1764] was one of London's greatest artists, noted for satirical sequences, such as 'A Rake’s Progress,' but also a noted portraitist and painter of biblical scenes.
