Murad V's pocket watch, as imagined in Chapter Three: "Manufactured by Breguet and made of gold, it was beautifully decorated. The dial was of plain design, with simple black Ottoman numerals around the edge. The watch hands were of exquisite workmanship, being inlaid with small diamonds. The enamel on one side of the casing bore a miniature portrait of Sultan Abdülmecid, while his tuğra was engraved on the other."

Princess Hadice's mantle clock and candelabra set, as imagined in Chapter Eleven. "On a nearby table the bronze mantle clock, mounted on a base of white marble and adorned with gilt bows and swathes of gilded flowers and fruit, slowly ticked away the hours as Hadice sat grieving for the happiness she knew would never return."
A lock ring, as imagined being owned by Mehmed Kemaleddin Pasha in Chapter Seventeen: "It was all he had to remind him of Hadice – that and the silk handkerchief that she had embroidered with his initials, and the lock of her hair concealed in a locket ring that Abdülhamid’s agents had failed to find during their search of his rooms on that terrible night."
