Great shot of DP2 at Camden shed, sometime in 1962. Built by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry in 1962 using a Deltic bodyshell (reputed to be shell No18). The loco was fitted with an English Electric 16CSVT engine of 2700-hp. On 31 July 1967 DP2 was involved in a serious accident at Thirsk, colliding at speed with the de-railed Cliffe (Kent) to Uddingston (Glasgow) cement train and was withdrawn in Sept 1967 and scrapped in 1970.
