Private House, Kentish Town

like the exposed steel beam in this one - makes the side return roof a bit more integrated as the materials match and are echoed again in the bifold doors

Slat House designed by Carl Turner Architects, represents an unusual two – storey extension, and sophisticated remodelling of a 1930’s semi-detached house. The extension opens up the interiors of the house, creating a fluid connection with the densely wooded garden. The driving design concept was to define the extension as a lightweight ‘box’ using timber cladding.

Slat House is a minimalist house designed by England-based designers Carl Turner Architects. The home is a renovation on a semi-detac.

Modern side return extension with glass roof (image from Pinterest)

Modern side return extension with glass roof creates a truly light filled space that would be hard to recreate without all the glass. Stunning way to let natural light flood in.

I would love to do this side return extension.....lots of glass and light and a sociable space to eat, drink and put the world to rights!
