The Rector's Palace atrium, often used as a venue for classical music concerts during the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. A monument stands in the middle, erected in 1638 to Miho Pracat, a rich ship owner from Lopud who left his immense wealth to the Republic for the charitable cause.
Port Gruz is a great place to depart for group a day trip to explore the stunning Elafiti Islands. Gruz is located Northwest of the City km from the historical center) and is an attractive passenger vessel port and a marina.
The historic Fort Lovrijenac (Fort of St Lawrence) offers a great venue for an outdoor event. Interestingly, the sea facing walls of are 12 meters thick, whilst the walls facing the city are only 60 centimeters in places. This was intentionally to ensure that should an enemy take the Fort, it could easily be destroyed from defenders based along city walls.
