Goodrich Castle in Herefordshire is located on the peaceful River Wye in some of the most lush and beautiful countryside in England, and it's been attracting travelers in search of romantic visions since the late century.
Symond's Yat: From its source is in the Welsh mountains the river Wye flows along the English/Welsh border through Hay-on-Wye, Hereford, Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth and Chepstow where it meets the Severn estuary. Much of the lower valley is an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). The river winds its way to the South Wales Coast quite independently of the underlying geology, cutting across different rock types. There are many large picturesque loops in the river with great vantage points.
