A marvellous photo, full of detail and interest. Two young lads cycle up the Holloway Road, with a trolleybus on route 609 to Barnet in front, making the turn into Archway Road. Meanwhile a tram, on the last route in north London, trundles towards the camera. The little sports car looks a bit like an MG TF, although corrections are welcome (update-see comment below) - it's passing another of the Lyons' tea shops, so common during this era. Kingsway subway tram routes 33, to Manor House and 35, to Archway survived until the final closure of the whole system in 1952 - this shot was probably taken just a few months before the end. These two routes ran along the same road after emerging from the subway, but diverged at Islington Green, where route 33 travelled to Manor House via Essex Road, Newington Green and Green Lanes, while the 35 continued along Upper Street on it's way to Archway via Highbury Corner and Holloway Road. …

BEDFORD OB Coach - TRUCK-UK HISTORIC

Bedford OB Coach, these images are taken over the last few years of this superb coach , all images are of preserved examples! The OB was made between 1939 and 1951.The OB is one of the most popular coaches in preservation. There are known to be 180 still in existence, nearly 70 in roadworthy condition, and 30 are fully PCV'd for private hire work.
