Have students sort exit tickets on the way out the door by level of understanding (using green-yellow-red baskets). Visual way to check it they think they "got it". Students also are self-assessing their understanding.
Use permanent marker to write questions on a ball (soccer, beach, volleyball etc). Could also add numbers and have a numbered question sheet for students to refer to. Whatever number their thumb lands closest to is the question they answer.

When a student asks a question no one knows the answer to, including the teacher, the question will go up on this board. Students can bring back a written answer to one of the questions of their choice each week for extra credit.
