I wonder what's in the big red barn. Great rhyming game or farm activity. Could also use initial alphabet letters for recognition practice and use this idea to make a flannel board set.

Spell it out, outside! This game puts a super-size spin on an old classic -- and boosts basic literacy skills -- by transforming word-building into an active learning challenge.

Teacher's Pet – Ideas & Inspiration for Early Years (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) | The Mystery Box Put a number or letter or object in their and have the children ask specific questions in order to guess what's in the box

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this idea! The Mystery Box- great way to introduce a topic.(Panera Bread for the box) Maybe I'll use it for the lesson I have to teach in December.

Phonics fun today ... the children came up with this game.... someone 'sound talked' a part of the body and everyone drew it on their board! Just look at those 't-ee-th'!!!!! Great turn taking too! Mr Tickled Pink is on the look out for wonderful work! He certainly was Tickled Pink today!

A child could secretly select an object e. a dog and put it into a box, sound talk it - d.g, group draw what the believe it to be, we're they right?
