Great tip; I've often wondered how I'd refinish my baseboards. Make a custom sanding block to speed up sanding of complex shapes.Rub a block of rigid foam insulation over the sandpaper until it conforms to the molding's profile.Coat the foam block and the back of the sandpaper with spray adhesive. Carefully stick the sandpaper to the block and sand the molding.
Put a bead in any board 2 using a dado set on my tablesaw, I made my own by cutting 1/4" grooves where I wanted the beads. After breaking the edges of each groove, I glued a 1/4" dowel into each groove. The end result: It looks just like the real McCoy. Try using this technique with a contrasting species of dowel for visual effect.
