The Last of London's RTs

Plumstead garaged RT745 captured racing through Lewisham, bound for Crystal Palace during the vehicle's final days with London Transport in February 1978. New in 1948, the bus had lasted an incredible 30 years with LT before being withdrawn and disposed of in March 1978. RT745 was one of the many RTs sold to Wombwell Diesels of South Yorkshire for breaking. The very last RTs ran from Barking in April 1979. A large pub which also seems to bill itself as "Hot Shots" in neon letters over the door. Has been reopened as the far more pleasant The Ravensbourne Arms by Antic in early-2011, then closed in 2016. Address: 323 Lewisham High Street. Owner: Enterprise Inns (former); Whitbread (former). Links: London Pubology (The Ravensbourne Arms)
