one of my favourite ever concerts.

Bjork at the Royal Opera House, in full. matmos, amazing harpist, greenlandic choir, and amazing outfits for bjork. "hyper-ballad" is a highlight.

Good audio is crucial, and you can't go wrong with a Rode Ntg-2 shotgun mic and the H4n recorder.

the Shoot35 cinebox and cinefocus package is by far the best value matte box and follow focus on the net. Incredibly well built, looks great and all comes in at just under a thousand, rods, baseplate and all

the Davis and Sanford provista 7518 with FM18 head is the most incredible tripod in terms of value for money. Selling for £160 on amazon, it is capable of supporting 18lbs and has an astounding fluid head. I've worked with tripods worth 5 times the price which weren't as smooth. Bargain!

the Kessler Pocket Dolly. A little pricier than the rest of the kit here, but totally worth it. Steady and smooth movement in your shots will add a lot of value to the finished product, particularly if you're filming inanimate objects!

the DVTEC dv multirig pro. Its a modular camera stabiliser I bought 6 years ago for my HVX200. I found this to be brilliant for DSLR work too. it folds up to be extremely compact and is a relief when carrying a fully kitted out camera. Furthermore, each handle has screw mounts for the addition of lights, sound recorders, microphones or whatever else you might need. The only fiddly element of it was screwing it to the camera, but I resolved this with the addition of a giottos quick release…
