ASH A visual journal of a different format, this collation of representative tokens, images and other souvenir memorabilia is displayed openly on a single length of paper, with roughly scribbled annotations which succinctly give both personal and literal insight into the purpose of each item.
fuck yeah cartography!
I think this is a good mix of textiles and cartography, and makes a really interesting display. Each small circle represents a whole city or town, its a different way or representing a place and a new way of interpreting a map. No matter how small the map used was with the added name of the place it was really clear to know where the little circle represented.

Maps are an interesting motif of a journey, however I think they add too much business in a lot of pieces, and so detail has to be cut out of the subject, such as tone and shadowing in this piece shown. It represents a physical journey throughout a place, and provides a detailed canvas, however I do not think I would carry this idea forward to a final piece.
