Cockle sheds at Leigh-on-Sea. We would go here often for the best seafood and a pint from the haunted pub, wonderful!

Go to Leigh on Sea on the train, have lunch in Old Leigh and then walk by the sea all the way to Southend and get the train back from there.

Thorndon Hall, a Georgian Palladian country house within Thorndon Park, Ingrave, Essex.  Formerly the country seat of the Petre family who now reside at nearby Ingatestone Hall, located within nearly 600 acres of ancient medieval deer park, meadows + forest. The current house was originally designed by James Paine, construction started 1764, and was completed in 1778. The park was  landscaped between 1766/1772 by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown.
