Land Rover 90 - Direct Release from MOD
About to head off from Lincolnshire back to Bristol, in failing light and poor weather December 2010 (the journey back turned out to be twice as fast as public transport and half the price: although noisier and more drafty!)
Red Zone Adventure: Snow Transport
The Met Office had issued a rare "Red Warning" for snow in SE Wales, and the journey to and from work (around 70 miles) was quite varied and at times exciting. But all done in the best possible vehicle!
Arrival. Soft top frozen solid, snow and ice all over the car, icicles hanging from the wheel arches. Later it was covered in frozen rain and I had to chip off an inch of ice from the windscreen before being able to set off home.
This is the same model/colour Cavalier I had when I was 23! I really liked it, even though it was a basic model with a smallish engine. It was broken into 3 times and stolen once (being used in an armed robbery!). Eventually it was replaced by an MGB GT
