New platform 4 in Reading station - part of Network Rail’s project to upgrade the station and railway in Reading. Reading is one of the busiest parts of country’s rail network and its complicated track layout constricts the number of trains that can run. Network Rail is changing the track layout and building new five platforms and two new entrances at the station to decongest the railway and improve passengers' journeys. Paddington station is undergoing the most significant transformation since the completion of the original building in 1853. A busy terminus for local, regional and international passengers, the new station will increase capacity at this major interchange.
