Michael Rennie was born in Yorkshire in 1909. Originally a car salesman he changed career to acting after winning a part in a 1936 Alfred Hitchcock Film. During World War Two he joined the RAF Volunteer Reserve as a Pilot Officer in 1941 training as a fighter pilot in the U.S.A. He was promoted to Flying Officer in 1943. He became a flight instructor until 1944 when he returned to making moral boosting films. after the War he moved to find fame as a film and T.V actor in Hollywood.
