Hidden Partners- Sight Word Style!
My class loved playing our Hidden Partners game to help reinforce math facts... SO I thought why not make a game for sight words? So... I did. It's so easy and the kids had a ball with it. All you need are some 3x5 cards and a marker. It doesn't get much easier than that. Make as many cards as you have students. Your very own bob and bob from phonics play - choose the words/ purpose. The children can see the words/ post them in the bin mouths! Is it a real word or alien/silly word? I love the iwb bob and bob but I have a visually impaired child who needs to see bigger font nice and close.
Word Work Wednesday
Finally we get the vowel sounds down - the short vowels - the long vowels - and then it happens. Bossy R comes along. Now those vowel sounds we were so sure about are not the same! This always seems to cause my students to *stall* so I'm taking the bull by the horns car by the steering wheel to help them practice and master these sounds.
