High animal welfare is central to our ethos at Daylesford. Organic standards require more space for animals, restrict practices that can be detrimental to welfare, and focus on lowering stress to improve health status.
Our herd of organic farmed venison is the largest of its kind in the country, living a virtually wild existence with minimal human contact on our Wootton estate in Staffordshire.

We choose to raise our traditional breed of Bronze turkeys because they're ideal for an organic system: lively, with a natural love of roaming and exploring, and slow-growing. This doesn’t suit conventional farming, but it’s perfect for us as they develop their flavour fully and taste fantastic.
