Maps are an interesting motif of a journey,however I think they add too much business in a lot of pieces,and so detail has to be cut out of the subject,such as tone and shadowing in this piece shown. It represents a physical journey throughout a place, and provides a detailed canvas,however I do not think I would carry this idea forward to a final piece.

I like the aesthetic of cutting out an image and placing it in all different places. This could connect to my theme as it could represent how children how been misplaced and changed over generations.

by artist henrietta harris Emphasis by contrast-we know what a normal face looks like. All is well until the face shifts to the right creating a focal point. The first thing you would say you noticed about this painting is that the face is off centered.

Order because the pieces are all going the same direction but disorder because jigsaw pieces don't come out of faces.

I feel this image is very inspiring. The man's face is being fragmented into jigsaw pieces which I feel clearly portray the theme of fragments because a jigsaw can be fragmented, however it can all so be pieced back together.
