Storytelling: 3 Billy Goats Gruff
We used the 3 Billy Goats Gruff for storytelling. Over a number of days I read the story (just words, no pictures) to my daughter. She really enjoyed listening. Like so many of the other traditional children's stories this one makes use of repetition and order so that the child can follow along easily while appealing to their inclination for order. Chinese Kite Craft
Chinese kites are a symbol of the New Year and we made ours appropriate by choosing red, a lucky colour, and painting Chinese dragons on them!
Jack and the Beanstalk mathematics and craft activity: ask students to count out magic beans, leaves, and clouds.
