Math Facts Race, using recycled water bottle caps. We are just starting addition so would only use #'s 0-10 for my kiddos.

Start saving those water bottle lids: Math Facts Race, a great, engaging math activity that can be changed to accommodate lower to higher math learners. AND, you can fit it to engage middle and high school students.

Quiet activity! Pick up pom poms with chopsticks - number cards could relate to number or colour - endless possibilities.....

Just a very simple idea for quieter sessions. Pom poms are so quiet. Children get the pom-poms with chopsticks or tweezers. good for counting sorting and fine manipulative. Can be done individually or they could choose a number then race to collect.

Wrap numicon in foil. Chn write down guess, unwrap foil and write down actual number

At NL we hid the foil wrapped numicon in the sand pit. Children used metal detectors to 'treasure hunt' for the numicon. Also foil wrapped matching numeral cards.

Maths challenge table. This activity was an adult led the week before. Hoping the children will be able to do this independently.
