Jenny Saville has played a huge part in my developing work. Her use of rough scratch marks and intense and expressive hues have taken me out of my comfort zone completely. I am greatly inspired by the contemporary meaning she tries to portray within her work i.e. 'feminist aesthetics of disgust.' Throughout the course of art, she has also allowed me to adapt to new techniques such as using a scraper and blending a range of tones to portray the simple yet rough look of skin.
