Goldwork Embroidery Beetles
Three beetle specimens rendered in Gold Work and applique using metal threads, leather, silk thread and glass beads. Inspired by the Scarab, Longhorn and Great Diving Beetle. They are worked on medium weight calico and mounted in a black 6 x 8 frame which can be wall mounted or free standing..
Intangible- Delicate Embroidery on Tulle
Fine cream thread on ivory tulle creates the illusion of an organic webbed shape floating in space. Cutwork, openwork, embroidery, and lacemaking techniques come together in this abstract and supremely delicate piece, inspired by the shapes of cells, bone structures, and of course, spiderwebs. This piece measures eleven inches in diameter and can easily be hung through the screw at the top of the piece. The tulle is trimmed and glued on the back of the hoop to prevent slippage.
