Here& what we have done for science as part of our Before Five in a Row study of The Carrot Seed.

planting in CD cases - brilliant idea

using old cd cases to grow beans. Then can use a sharpie or dry erase marker to label parts of the plant for older kids. Such a cool take on the old lima beans in a baggie trick.

During our Growing and Changing Unit...We put seeds and a damp paper towel in a plastic bag.  We taped them to the window and watched them grow!

Vegetable investigation. A mix of vegetables, including lots of unfamiliar ones for the children to explore, encouraging them to use all their senses, and lots of language skills. Relevant books are available encouraging them to enjoy an increasing range of books and know that they carry information as well as stories.
