Identical twins Amar and Arjunmay  Purewal playing non-league but have already made their mark on the game and the history books.  Back in 2008, they both ended up on the score sheet for Bishop Auckland FC against Darlington RA in an FA Cup match and then a year later, repeated the feat, this time against Hall Road Rangers.  According to the record books, this is the first time twins have scored in the same match in successive seasons.

In the FA Amateur Cup, the Bishops’ record was without equal.  They were in the final 18 times, winning the cup on ten occasions including a record three times in a row in 1955, 1956 and 1957.  The Club were also semi-finalists on 27 occasions. When the (Amateur Cup) competition ceased in 1974, the Club was presented with a replica of the trophy in recognition of its outstanding record.
