Outlaw John Wesley Hardin was born in Bonham, Texas in 1853. He became one of the most famous gunmen in the history of the Wild West. He is reputed to have killed 30 to 40 men including a man that he shot for snoring. His family was prominent with members in the fight for Texas independence, and a Judge William Hardin, served as a congressman in the Texas legislator. One of Texas' deadliest outlaws, John Wesley Hardin, was reputed to be the meanest man alive, an accolade he supposedly earned by killing a man for snoring. He committed his first murder at age and admitted to killing more than 40 men over 27 years.

Army Staff Sgt. Michael A. Shank  Died November 28, 2006 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom  31 of Bonham, Texas; assigned to the 230th Military Police Company, 95th Military Police Battalion, 18th Military Police Brigade, Kaiserslautern, Germany; died Nov. 28 of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Logar province, Afghanistan. Also killed was Spc. Jeffrey G. Roberson.

Charlie Christian ~ A swing and jazz guitarist. He was an important early performer on the electric guitar. He is cited as a key in the development of bebop and cool jazz. He gained national exposure as a member of the Benny Goodman Sextet and Orchestra. His single-string technique combined with amplification helped bring the guitar out of the rhythm section and into the forefront as a solo instrument. John Hammond and George Simon called him the best improvisational talent of the swing era.

Birthday: July Christian was a swing guitarist who was instrumental in the development of bebop and cool jazz. He was one of the first in his field to use amplification.
