One of Virginia's prettiest covered bridges, and the only single-span arched covered bridge in the state, is aptly named Humpback Bridge in Shenandoah Valley. Built in the bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Humpback Covered Bridge which lies west of Covington, Virginia, was built in 1857 and is the oldest of Virginia’s remaining covered bridges. It was closed to vehicular traffic in 1929 and is now part of a wayside park.
