I'll be trying this next for our dishwasher.  I was using the borax and washing soap with citric acid, but the dishes aren't coming so clean.  Plus it's in liquid form so I'm hoping it doesn't leave a residue on the dishes.

DIY Liquid Dishwasher detergent 1 cup castille soap 1 cup warm water cup vinegar 1 TBSP lemon juice 4 drops lemon essential oil mix everything together and stir. Will gel up in a ½ day or so.
