Interesting, that on the same day, but in 1558 died another woman - Mary I Tudor or Bloody Mary, a native English which name became a synonymous to the massacre, and the day of Mary's death (also it was the day of accession to the throne of Elizabeth I) was observed as a national holiday in England~.
