St. John Vianney almost did not become a priest because of his weak studies. However, he was ordained because of his holiness. Father Vianney was sent to the French village of Ars which had few God-fearing citizens. Through his works, penance and prayers, he converted the entire village. Soon, people everywhere came to seek him. He heard confessions for 16 hours everyday and converted many sinners. He is the patron saint of all priests. His feastday is on 4 August.
