I found it.  Jules Adolphe Breton   The Song of the Lark.  in the Chicago Art Institute.  One of the most stunningly beautiful paintings I've ever seen.  It looks so dark here, but when you see it in real life, it is just  . . . . .  just . . . . .

Jules Adolphe Breton French, The Song of the Lark. It seems to be showing some moment of exasperation, or melancholy- not sure what it is about but the mood with the sunset and the sickle in her hand is mysterious and outstanding!
