"Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those that mistreat you." "love thy enemies" was a radical thought for a young rabbi during a time and place where the Romans were actively persecuting the Hebrews.
I don't believe this to be true in this day and age. Doing everything with a kind heart just gets taken as weakness. I'll stay true to my heart but forget about being nice to those people that don't deserve it anymore.
